The fragrance launched in August 2021 as part of Riri’s Fenty Beauty line. After being sold out immediately, and being restocked several times it is now back this December for the holidays! If you’ve been following me on social media then you know I’ve been talking a ton about this fragrance lately. Most recently I posted this Fenty Beauty fragrance as my birthday scent of the day and I know some of you still have questions so let’s break it down. The new fragrance sells out fast and is highly anticipated, for good reason. It’s definitely a must-try if you’re a fan of Rihanna or just looking for an empowering and memorable scent to add to your collection. If you’re on the fence about whether or not to buy the unisex Fenty Beauty perfume, I’ll let you know what I think of the scent. Spoiler alert: I absolutely love it- and here’s why!
What does The Fenty Beauty perfume smell like?
Here are the notes and the fragrance description (according to Sephora.com):
“Magnolia and musk unite with tangerine, Bulgarian rose, vanilla, blueberry, and hints of coconut, geranium, and patchouli, to create a blend that expresses itself uniquely on each wearer for a one-of-a-kind scent that is all heart and pure soul.”
The mixture of notes makes it a one of a kind scent. Like Rihanna herself said in an interview with Elle, “The energy of this fragrance is very vibrant and very spicy” and “once you smell it, you’ll never forget it.”

This amazing scent is now available on the Fenty Beauty website, but for a limited time only. Don’t wait too long or else you may miss out (again). When the fragrance was first released back in 2021, I waited months to get my hands on a bottle. Now that it’s being sold in limited quantities at Sephora, if you want to get your hands on it, you better act fast! This isn’t just any old scent; it packs some serious star power and confidence. Fenty Eau de Parfum doesn’t disappoint!
The First Impression of Fenty Beauty Fragrance
Trying out new fragrances is one of my favorite things to do, and as luck would have it, I’ve got my own personal mystery tester. Whenever I bring home a potential addition to my fragrance collection, I can’t help but call upon the expertise of my beloved boyfriend.
When I first sprayed Fenty EDP on initially he replied casually with “It smells nice,” but later on in the day I caught him sniffing it twice! The scent lasted throughout the day, and he kept asking me what was that lovely aroma wafting in his direction? Indeed, it was my Fenty favorite! Then something unexpected happened: he asked me if he could spray this genderless scent on himself. That was when we both realized maybe this subtle and sensual blend or magnolia, musk, tangerine and Bulgarian rose was a keeper after all.
Since then, my beau and I have enjoyed experiencing Fenty Eau de Parfum together.It’s quite fitting as its musky blend of magnolia, tangerine and Bulgarian rose is most definitely a recipe for romance. Talk about intoxicating.
Bottle Aesthetics
Rihanna said she wanted to create a fragrance that represented all genders walks of life in a press release from 2021:
“I wanted a rich color that really represented all genders from across all walks of life. Brown is my favorite color. Brown is who I am. Brown is what I come from. If I’m going to make a fragrance that represents me, even the body language of the bottle needs to marry that.”
With a warm amber brown glass and touches of gold, the curved edges of the bottle design fit perfectly in the palm of the hand. The sprayer, a key element of design, envelops you in a cloud because of its long and soft pressurized sprayer. It’s all very sensual and feels luxurious. Let’s face it; when it comes to perfume bottles we all want something that looks as good as it smells! And this bottle does not disappoint!
